Our team took time out from the office and headed to KBB Birmingham. The biggest trade show for the KBB Industry, it is where companies launch their latest products, unveil new brands and deliver insights into the latest trends.
As a PR agency that specialises in homes & interiors, we like to ensure we keep ahead of the game with the latest trends, and it was great to see first-hand what will be hot in 2018. Expect faded grandeur and metals to continue to play a part in our interiors. We’ll also be waving bye-bye to white kitchens, with red and pink(!) making a strong statement. Our particular favourite was Masterclass Kitchens, whose Vintage Rose kitchen on their stand really made a statement.
We also had a wander over to Hafele, who had launched a range of new lights on the back of a piece of research they’d done. Lighting can add 5% to the sale of a kitchen so the collection was to help retailers maximise sales and increase turnover.
We’ve yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love Smeg, and their stand was not only filled with the most amazing cakes (we put on at least half a stone walking around the show) but also their ‘SICILY MY LOVE’ collection, in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. The range sees Sicilian arts using Smeg’s award-winning small appliance range as their canvases. They really are stunningly beautiful!
A sign of a confident market, KBB was buzzing throughout the day, with stands beaming with life. Each company showcased the latest in innovation, taking time to invest in their offering and stand which shows there’s a lot of confidence within the trade.
We can’t wait to see everything we saw trickle through into consumers’ home and into home & interior mags…one thing is for certain, we’re going to enjoy working in the KBB sector over the coming months!
